The Artisan in Residence - Karen Stanley

Karen has expressed her creativity through many media over the course of her entire life, whether it’s festive confections for her grand children, faux paint finishes in her home, or holiday wreaths for friends and family.

Her passion for fabric art has endured for decades, and her skill level of workmanship has only progressed over the years. She has developed a custom stitching technique so original, her clients always return with more work for her to do.

Company history

Having started The Cottage Quilter in her basement only a few years ago, Karen’s reputation has afforded her continued growth as a successful, woman-owned business in the local community.

Since then, the studio has grown and relocated to a sunny country home in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region.
